Fenty Beauty: Just what we needed!

IMG_20170918_202702_592So as everyone knows unless you’ve been living under a rock (lol), Rihanna came out with her amazing makeup line which launched for Sephora. It has been one of the most talked about makeup releases in a very long time + as a woman of color, I’m very proud we are included right of the jump.

You can read many many articles about this line so I won’t ramble on too much but I will share with you what I bought + a video on how it looks on my skin type + tone.

SEPHORA SHOPPING TRIP

Here is the mini Fenty Display at Sephora.

Here is the larger display at Sephora. You can hear at the end, one of the staff tells me I have beautiful skin. Of course, I got shy like I always do like the derp I am lolol.

WHAT I PURCHASED:

20170918_045639

Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer SIZE 1.08 oz/ 32 mL Cost: $32

20170918_032036

This is a swatch of the primer. Very smooth + creamy but not at all oily. Melts right into the skin + has a light fall like/spicy sweet scent.

20170918_045631

Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation  Shade: 450 SIZE 1.08 oz/ 32 mL Cost: $34

20170918_043141

This foundation goes on smoothly + dries down quickly to a soft matte. The product does oxidize slightly but nothing too crazy in my opinion. You don’t feel like you’re wearing foundation, it just feels like skin!

20170918_045617

Invisimatte Blotting Powder SIZE 0.3 oz/ 8.5 g Cost: $32

20170918_045559

20170918_050117

The cushion is nice + I use it for on the go purposes but not for my daily application. It’s soft + the back has this faux leather texture. Simple + classy.

Here you can kind of get a look at the packaging. It’s white with this shimmery purple pearlescent effect. Very pretty!

20170918_023821

Precision Makeup Sponge 100 Cost: $16.00

20170918_023810

This sponge is very similar to the Beauty Blender in regards to the feel of it. It’s also latex free so it work for those who may be allergic to latex. I like this one a lot + it blends really nicely.

20170918_045519

Match Stix Matte Skinstick SIZE 0.25 oz/ 7.10 g Cost: $25.00

20170918_045310

This Match Stix is in Espresso. It was the deepest shade + I thought I would try it for contouring + it worked really well + blended out beautifully + easily.

20170918_045648

Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter SIZE 2 x 0.12 oz/ 3.5 g Shades: Ginger Binge/ Moscow Mule Cost: $34.00

20170918_045746

I swatched both colors + the Moscow Mule shade is a bit more pigmented + shimmery. The colors are very cooper/rose gold like + just looks so so pretty!

20170918_045258

Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer SIZE 0.30 oz/ 9 mL Shade: Fenty Glow – shimmering rose nude Cost: $18.00

20170918_045244

This gloss is so nice. It’s not sticky and just feels really nice on the lips. It has a candy sweet scent + reminds me of Starburst. It’s a pretty nude mauve/brown + just looks good on every skin tone. It also has nice little gold shimmers in it but it’s not over the top.

Over all, I am really impressed with the first launch of Fenty Beauty + I cannot wait to see what else she comes up with because this is a brand I would highly recommend to try out. Check out my video below demoing the items I purchased!

YSL Touch Éclat Neutralizer

IMG_20160128_144338

Yay!! Got my new YSL Touche Éclat color corrector!!

This one is in Apricot Bisque and I have explained in the photo the cost and what it does for you. 🎀 This was sent to me by Influenster for review purposes!! I use this under my foundation to hide any dark spots and over my foundation on the areas I want a touch of highlight.

So far I like the effect it has. I had some darkspots from a breakout on my chin and so I applied this first and it took away that pigmentation that sometimes shows through foundation. I put a little bit on the bridge of my nose for a bit of highlight and that seemed to work well!

If you are a fan of YSL, I think you should give these a try. They have 3 colors total:

Green: Corrects blemishes, conceals redness for an even skin tone.
Bisque: Corrects dark circles and dark spots. Illuminate.
Violet: Corrects yellow dull skin for a healthy glow.

Well, that’s all I have for now but stay tuned for new reviews and goodies!!

Until Next Time…

LOVE, PEACE, AND SHOPPING RECEIPTS!

MY THOUGHTS, EXPERIENCE + RATING
3-5stars Rilakkuma

I have used this eye gel for a month + overall I feel that it’s just Okay. I am not overly impressed with it but I am also not extremely disappointed either. I gave it 3 out of 5 Rilakkuma’s (Yes, this is a thing now lol). The texture is very nice + light. There is no fragrance which is nice especially since my facial skin is crazy sensitive. The gel gives a nice cooling effect which is pleasing + I feel helps reduce puffiness a bit. The texture is really nice +  kind of thick but melts away into the skin leaving it very moisturized + smooth. The company claims that this gel reduces the appearance of fine lines but in that department I see not a single change. I used this product twice a day as well but still, I didn’t notice a change at all. Not everything is for everyone so I think I may need something with slightly stronger ingredients for my under eyes. With that said, I would actually recommend it to other because he really does feel nice on the skin + is very light once absorbed. I just don’t feel I would purchase this myself unless it works better after further use.

So all,  I hope you found this review helpful + maybe this will work out for you! Let me know if you try it because I would be interested to know what your results are like!

Until Next Time…

NYX Honey Dew Me Up – First Impressions + Final Thoughts!

IMG_20140607_233916

Hello beauties!!

I know I’ve been gone for a little bit but I’ve been exhausted!! It takes me an hour + a half to get to work each morning and about a full 2 hours to get home!! My days are long + exhausting + sometimes I just need to rest so I hope you all understand!

So, this post (+ a few others coming up) are way over due but better later than never right?? So I purchased the NYX  Honey Dew Me Up Primer off of the NYX website. I tend to get all giddy and sparkly eyed when I see new items so I had to try it out! The primer cost $17 which I thought was a bit much but of course, I decided to buy it any way hahaha. Now, on to what I thought + the post I left on the NYX site.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

When I received my package, I was super excited and couldn’t wait to try this product. Right away I was put off by the spatula. That didn’t seem very sanitary to me. To explain my impression further, let me show you what I posted on the NYX website…

★★★★★2 out of 5 stars.

Not as geat as I was expecting…

I will post on my blog with more detail but, this primer just is not for me! I thought it would be amazing because soooo many NYX products are. This formula doesn’t seem to be any different when it comes to basic priming. The gold flakes are a bit random and not small enough to illuminate the skin. The product feels wet and sticky to me and makes my combo/oily skin a wee bit unhappy. Also, the packaging would be so much better in a pump form…much more sanitary. All in all this product has the potential to be great but I just don’t think it’s there yet.

 No
I do not recommend this product.
CURRENT THOUGHTS
I decided to try this product again after watching other reviews + talking to a few people + we agree that this product is much better as a serum and not a primer! When I use the product this way, I can actually see benefits. I first cleanse my face, exfoliate, then tone. After I tone my skin, the Honey Dew Me Up seeps into the skin must better + does not leave that sticky + wet feeling. After about a week my skin looked much healthier + plump. I feel like the gold in the product is still pointless but the ingredients are rather nice if used the right way. I really feel this product should be repackaged + marketed as a serum because it’s got great potential!!
Overall I am starting to like this product since using it the new way. Hopefully NYX will see that this is a much better product when used a serum! I hope you guys found this post helpful and I will chat with you again soon!
Until Next Time…

Purple Lipstick Craze

IMG_20140615_151509-2

Hello beauties!!

I actually just recently (within the lats couple of years) have gotten into really loving lipsticks. Most of the time I was strictly a gloss/balm kind of girl and was content with that. I always thought my lips were too big to wear lipstick but I soon found out that was a lie and I embrace these kissers!

I always loved purple but didn’t know just how pretty a purple lipstick could look on! I still have yet to fine the perfect nude lippie but that’s a whole different story. I wanted to share with you guys my fave purple lipsticks and I want you to share your faves with me as well…I might need a shade you have! 😉

SWATCHES:

IMG_20140615_143248IMG_20140615_145639

LIPPIE TYPES:

Medusa – Glossy, almost like a MAC Amplified lipstick

Violet – A creamy satin matte

Pure Heroine – A MAC Amplified finish

Landinski – Matte Finish

Kooky- Matte Finish w/ a somewhat creamy texture (very long lasting)

**Medusa and Pure Heroine look very similar in photos!! Also, Landinski looks like a dupe for Pure Heroine in a Matte**

I know these all look similar but they look a bit different when worn. Also, the above shades work great with my skin tone so they are my go to’s at the moment! What do you  guys think? Leave a comment and tell me what your favorite purple shades are!!

Until Next Time…
